Welcome to Callaghan College

Callaghan College is a large multi-campus secondary school located in the north-west corridor of Newcastle. The College is committed to delivering opportunities for all students to succeed in a caring environment. The College consists of Wallsend Campus and Waratah Technology Campus for students in Years 7-10 and Jesmond Senior Campus for Years 11-12.

The College has approximately 2300 students with over 300 staff, across the three separate campuses. In each campus, quality learning takes place with students achieving success in learning and extra-curricular activities.

The College management structure includes the;

  • College Principal
  • three Campus Principals, and
  • a College Council

The four principals meet regularly as a senior management group to determine policy and across-College procedures.

Meetings are held at the Principals’ Unit ( Braye Park ). The unit has facilities for College professional development of staff, student leadership training, as well as a community meeting place.
